My 2016 520i has been feeling really loose over the expansion joints on Al Ain Road, like the back end takes an extra bounce before settling, and my regular mechanic says the rear shocks are tired but not leaking yet. I’m trying to decide between paying extra for genuine BMW shocks or going with something like SACHS or Bilstein B4s which are supposedly the OEM supplier anyway. I’ve been looking into BMW Shock Absorber Service Dubai options and a few shops have quoted me wildly different prices for the same job, so I’m not sure if the expensive ones are just ripping me off or if the cheaper ones are using fake parts. Has anyone here replaced shocks on an F10 and noticed a big difference between brands? I don’t need sporty handling, just want the comfortable highway cruiser feel back without spending dealer money. Also curious if I should do the mounts and bump stops at the same time because I’d rather pay labor once than again in six months. Any advice from fellow BMW owners would be great because right now my car feels more like a boat than a Bimmer.
