A fellow fish farmer suggested I look at UAE suppliers since the trucking distance isn’t terrible and the selection tends to be better, which led me to the Crateco UN approved IBC category that seems to include options beyond just industrial grade. My main concerns are whether they’re willing to ship a relatively small order across the border without slapping on a delivery charge that doubles the invoice, and if the tanks can survive the highway through the desert without the cages getting scuffed to pieces or the valves cracking from vibration. If anyone’s done a UAE to Oman run with IBCs I’d be grateful to hear how the logistics worked out and whether you had any drama at the Hatta or Al Ain border posts with customs wanting to inspect every single tank.
